002 The Uncoincidence Meeting
Title: The Uncoincidence Meeting
Characters: EunHae
Genre: I don’t know how to put this but I guess friendship suits this fic. Is it even genre.
Summary: Hyukjae met someone or actually a special person who’d been playing around in his dreams and Hyukjae thought he was still dreaming.
Note: Well, it really happened, I really dreamed about something like this. I’ve been keeping this thought for months, and I feel like making it as a fanfic, I don’t know, I just do, and so I did.
Hyukjae didn’t know how to portray this. He was fine if it happened once or twice, but it’d been more than that. At first he thought if it was some sort of curse or something like that, and so he went to talk to Sungmin, the only one who could understand him. He didn’t prefer talking to Kyuhyun though, because he knew the younger would end up saying that he is weird, and that wasn’t going to help him at all. “Maybe you’re stressed, you’ve been staying up late studying, causing the lack of sleep. I guess maybe you’re just too tired,” was what Sungmin told him and he believed. Well, at first.
But then it happened again that night.
Hyukjae woke up, cursing in the process, and he thought if this was indeed some sort of curse or his mind that was playing with him.
He’d been dreaming of someone he’d never met before, someone he didn’t even know. And to make it worse, that
someone is a male. There was a time where he dreamed about the two of them sitting on the bench, talking and laughing, enjoying the scene before them; kids chasing each other at the park. There was also a time he was staring at the male beside him, who was deep in his own thoughts and they were hanging around at Hyukjae’s balcony. The dreams happened just like that, and Hyukjae swore it was the same person in every dreams he had; he remembered his face, his brown eyes, his thin lips, he even remembered the other’s laugh. It was strange, he thought.
Hyukjae sighed, staring blankly at the familiar white ceiling. He wondered who was that person, what did he want from him. He tried to recall if he’d done something bad in the past. Sadly, he couldn’t remember meeting this person, and he was so sure.
He sighed for the second time that day, it was still indeed early, it was only eight. Knowing that his parents wouldn’t be home at the time, Hyukjae decided to take a shower after a long evening nap.
--
There wasn’t so many people outside, since it was close to winter, they’d probably were snuggling under the warm blankets watching some dramas. But Hyukjae decided to take a walk along the Han River, it was his favourite place after all. It was nice, really, wandering alone, deep in his own thoughts. It helped him calm, well, for a while.
Too bad, it was so cold that night, he even forgot to bring his wallet. So he decided to sit at the nearby bench, enjoying the beautiful scene before him. There were a few people, of course, maybe they were enjoying themselves like him too. There were even couples, and this troubled Hyukjae to search for at least a seat. He kept walking though, and gladly he met someone who was on his own as well.
“E-excuse me, do you mind if I sit here?” Hyukjae started, waiting for the other’s response.
“Sure.” He answered, making a space for Hyukjae to sit.
Hyukjae mumbled a low ‘thanks’ as he settled himself on the bench and looked ahead. The stranger beside him might be someone around his age, he could tell. Even though he only saw the other’s eyes, he just, really could tell. He was being hugged by a thick clothes like Hyukjae too, only a difference that he hung a red scarf around his neck, covering half of his lower face.
Maybe it is too cold, Hyukjae thought.
At first, Hyukjae wanted to at least make a conversation, even if it had to be a short one, but he knew he would mess it up, because Hyukjae is the most awkward person ever when he met someone he didn’t know. And so he let the idea slide off his mind.
Then he felt the other nudged him by his elbow.
Hyukjae jumped a little by the action, frowning when he looked back at the stranger beside him. He realized the man was offering him a hot cup of coffee.
“For me?” Hyukjae asked, pointing a finger at himself.
The man nodded. “I didn’t know how I ended up buying two. I guess you’re lucky then, because I’m giving this to you.”
Hyukjae could refuse if he wanted, it was someone he didn’t know and what if there was a poison in the drink? What if there was something that would make him unconscious? But come to think of again, it would be rude if he refused the offer though, he was in need of something hot after all. And so he took it, hesitantly.
“T-thanks.”
The stranger nodded at him as a reply and they both faced ahead again. It wasn’t long before the other spoke up, finally starting a conversation.
“Having a hard time?”
Hyukjae was deep in his own thoughts, but he still could hear the other, “Not really, it’s just something weird happening to me lately.”
“Weird?” The brunette asked, not bothering to look at Hyukjae.
“Well, you can call it weird, or I don’t know. I keep dreaming about someone that I’ve never met, someone that I didn’t even know.” Hyukjae didn’t mind telling the stranger, because he really need to let it all out. Plus, it’s not like the brunette was going to tell the whole world anyway.
“I don’t find it weird. You know what, they said, if something like that happened to you, maybe you’re going to meet that person later, or maybe she’s going to be with you in the future.” He replied.
“It’s a
he.” Hyukjae stressed out the last word.
“Okay… that’s really weird.”
Hyukjae sighed, then he continued, “I’m sure I’m straight you know. I’m not that kind of person.”
“But people change.” The brunette replied sternly.
Hyukjae chuckled at the reply. Never in his life he imagined himself being gay. He’d always prefer girls over boys. It’d always been girls. “I can’t even imagine myself liking boys. But,”
“But?” The other replied, mocking Hyukjae.
“But I found the boy in my dream’s quite attractive. You know, um, I don’t mean that I have that kind of feeling, it’s just, he looks… beautiful? I like it when he smiles, and I really love his laugh.”
Hyukjae admitted he kinda thought the male in his dream was indeed, beautiful. He would be lying if he said he didn’t like all those dreams, the fact that he liked them all. Every single of them. It was just that he was confused about the same person being in his dreams.
“Does that explains, you know what I mean, that you… like him?” The brunette said, lowering his scarf to sip his drinks.
The conclusion made Hyukjae shocked. “What? I-i don’t know. And why do you keep telling me that I’m falling for a-”
Hyukjae gasped as he turned his head. It was
him.
It was really
him.
“D-d-d-donghae?!” Hyukjae stuttered.
The other gulped hard on his drinks, almost choked, as he turned to look at the red head as well.
“How did you know my name?” Donghae asked, eyes wide opened.
Hyukjae realized he was a bit too loud, so he replied in a low voice, still stuttering, “I-it’s really you. It’s you. In my dreams.”
Hyukjae’s condition wasn’t as much different as Donghae’s. He was shocked as well. Hell, he was the most shocked between the both of them. So the stranger he’d been talking to was the man in his dreams? So the ‘meeting him in the future’ thingy was true?
He couldn’t think straight. He was puzzled.
And he thought he was dreaming again.
He thought his mind was playing with him again.
He thought-
“I-it’s me? And how did you even know my name?” Donghae asked, having the same expression.
“Although they were just a dream, but I remember calling your name, and I remember it well, Lee Donghae.”
It was really happening.
“This is really crazy.” Donghae stated, shaking his head in disbelief.
“I know.” Hyukjae replied softly, looking straight into the other’s brown eyes, examining his face, every single traces of Donghae’s face.
“Don’t look at me like that.” Donghae said, looking away shyly.
“Oh I’m sorry. It’s just, I still can’t believe this is happening you know. I finally met you in real life.” Hyukjae replied, playing with his fingers.
There was a moment of silence before Donghae asked, “What’s your name?”
And Hyukjae thought Donghae looked innocent and adorable when he tilted his head to look at him again. Hiding half of his face back with the scarf.
“It’s Hyukjae, Lee Hyukjae.” He replied, smiling.
And then the both of them stayed silent as they turned to look at the river again. Neither both of them knew there was a little feelings they felt towards each other, even though their first meet was quite short, and… strange.
But we all knew, Hyukjae was the most happiest person at the moment.
A/n: I’m sorry ;;;;;;;; the ending is so suck. Bye.
